11 Amazing Budget-Friendly High-Protein Sam’s Club Finds

Sam's High Protein

11 Best High-Protein Sam’s Club Foods I Buy on a Budget (Weight Loss Friendly)

People ask me all the time what I actually buy at Sam’s Club, so I figured I’d put together a list of some of my favorite high-protein finds. This isn’t sponsored, and it’s not a list of trendy diet foods. These are products I genuinely buy and use to help maintain my 160+ pound weight loss while juggling recovery, school, blogging, and real life.

One thing you’ll notice is that I’m not loyal to a specific store. I compare prices between Sam’s Club, Costco, and local grocery stores and buy wherever the best value is. My goal is simple: maximize protein, increase satiety, and keep my grocery budget under control.

Member’s Mark Lactose-Free Ultra Filtered Milk

If you’ve been a part of the family long, you already know I’m diabetic and use a GLP-1 as treatment. Higher-protein nutrition is a priority because it helps keep my blood sugar under control and prevents muscle loss while eating fewer calories with GLP-1 use. Sam’s Club (Member’s Mark) whole milk and ultra-filtered milk serve different dietary needs. Ultra-filtered milk provides 120- 160 calories (depending on the product format) and up to 30g of protein, compared to 150 calories and 8g of protein in standard whole milk.

For the longest time, I used to buy Fairlife because it was expensive, but the only ultra-filtered milk on the market. While on workers’ comp, I receive food stamps and can’t haul large grocery orders from my car, so I’ve been buying most of my groceries from Costco because Sam’s doesn’t accept food stamps for online or Instacart orders. But whenever I order from Sam’s, this milk is always in my cart because it saves me about $2.42 compared to Costco.

Frozen Shrimp

Frozen shrimp is probably one of the more expensive proteins we eat in our house, but it’s always on my grocery list. As the parent of an autistic daughter who only eats certain foods, shrimp is one of the few proteins she’ll happily eat. Before I got injured, I always encouraged her to try everything I cooked, and this quickly became one of her favorites. It’s incredibly versatile and one of the highest-protein, lowest-calorie foods you’ll find at Sam’s Club.

Here is why it’s an absolute powerhouse for your freezer:

  • The emergency weeknight savior: It thaws in roughly ten minutes in a bowl of cold water, making it the ultimate “oh no, I forgot to defrost dinner” backup plan.
  • Pure protein, zero fluff: It is almost entirely pure protein with virtually no fat or carbs, giving you the biggest nutritional bang for your calorie buck.
  • The ultimate flavor chameleon: Because it has a mild flavor, it easily absorbs whatever you throw at it—whether you’re craving garlic butter, spicy cajun, or a quick stir-fry.
  • Zero prep required: Buying it peeled and deveined means you get to skip the messy kitchen prep and go straight to cooking, saving your time and sanity.

Cottage Cheese

If you’re like I was, you probably hated cottage cheese. In fact, there’s a running joke about it in my cookbook, Reclaiming Flavor. After watching all the influencers making everything with cottage cheese, I finally decided to give it a try. Lo and behold, it earned a permanent spot in my Instacart orders.

I still don’t like the texture on its own, but I absolutely love it when it’s blended and seasoned. Blending it completely changes the texture, making it creamy and incredibly versatile. I do this all the time and even have an egg bake recipe that uses it.

Oikos Yogurt

If you’ve already read my article about the high-protein foods I buy from Costco, you already know I rotate between stores depending on what’s on sale. As a diabetic taking a GLP-1 medication, I’m not always hungry. Sometimes I forget to eat, and other times I just don’t feel like it. That’s why I look for easy, grab-and-go snacks that still help me hit my protein goals. When my appetite disappears, keeping high-protein options like Oikos yogurt in my Sam’s Club order helps make sure I still get the protein I need.

Oikos is one of my favorite high-protein foods to buy at Sam’s Club because it packs more protein than many other yogurts while staying lower in sugar. I love topping it with fresh berries, a few mini M&M’s, or Kodiak Cookie Butter Protein Granola for a quick snack that feels like a treat instead of just another “healthy” food.

SEEQ Clear Protein

SEEQ is one of my favorite ways to increase my protein without drinking another thick protein shake. It mixes like flavored water, contains 22 grams of protein, and is easy to take on the go. My favorite flavor is Mango, but I also enjoy alternating flavors. I usually use one scoop and mix it with Skittles or Unicorn Skinny Syrup.

Some Sam’s Club locations carry SEEQ in the variety pack, so it’s worth checking your local store first. If you can’t find it there, you can order it directly from SEEQ using my affiliate link and save 10% on your order.

Built Bars

You already know I have an obsession with these. My two favorites are Sour Puff and Cookie Dough. Costco carries Sour Puff in bulk, while Sam’s Club usually has Cookie Dough. These beauties pack 16 grams of protein in only 150 to 160 calories and have become my Sweet Tooth Life Raft. They satisfy my candy cravings and pair perfectly with Oikos yogurt.

Sonoma Creamery Queso Crisps

When I’m craving chips, these satisfy that craving while packing in more protein than traditional snacks. The Avocado Lime flavor is one of my favorites, and they’re perfect when I want something salty without reaching for a bag of regular chips. I serve these with my delicious high-protein Queso dip, which will be featured in my recipes in the Comfort Food Section. These Chips are 150 calories and 10 grams of Protein.

Here is why they are a massive win for the snack pantry:

  • The ultimate “fake-out” chip: They give you that satisfying, salty crunch of a regular tortilla chip without the massive carb load that derails your goals.
  • Cheese, but make it portable: It’s literally baked cheese, meaning you get all the rich flavor of a gourmet cheese board without dealing with ice packs or messy dips on the go.
  • Built for high-protein dipping: Unlike flimsy chips that snap the second they touch a thick dip, these are sturdy structural heroes built to hold a massive scoop of high-protein queso.
  • Accidental portion control: They are so rich and satisfying that a single serving actually stops your snack craving in its tracks, instead of leaving you at the bottom of a family-sized bag wondering what just happened.

Brami

Okay, let’s be honest. I love pasta, but it isn’t exactly diabetic-friendly. Protein pasta is a little gentler on my blood sugar, but if you’ve tried it before, you probably know it doesn’t always taste the best and can have a weird texture.

Since I found Brami, it’s become the star of my pasta dishes. I still get to enjoy the pasta meals I love while adding more protein and fiber to help keep me fuller longer.

Since I found Brami, it’s become the star of my pasta dishes. Here is why it earned a permanent spot in my pantry.

While Brami is my absolute favorite, it isn’t always in stock at every location, so I love keeping Barilla’s high-protein line on hand as a close second choice for a few key reasons:

  • No “cardboard” texture: Unlike other high-protein pastas that taste like recycled paper, this actually feels and tastes like real comfort food.
  • The lazy blood sugar hack: It lets me enjoy massive pasta bowls without the inevitable diabetic coma or sugar spike an hour later.
  • Built-in satiety: Thanks to the lupini bean protein and fiber, a single bowl actually keeps me full for hours instead of leaving me hunting for snacks 20 minutes later.
  • Zero sacrifice required: It’s one of those rare, simple swaps where you don’t feel like you’re being punished for trying to eat healthy.

Member’s Mark Chicken Shawarma Kit

Okay, so my daughter has an obsession with a place called Shal Halal. They’re famous for their white sauce, and I still haven’t figured out a lower-calorie version… but I promise it’s on my long-term to-do list.

I came across this chicken shawarma kit during one of my usual Sam’s Club shopping trips and had to grab it for her. They were 360 calories and 20 grams of protein. She loved it, and it’s become a permanent staple in my refrigerator. It isn’t exactly chicken over rice, but it definitely satisfies that craving for her. Here is why you’ll probably want to grab one too:

The “not-another-bored-chicken-breast” lifesaver: It hits your high-protein goals without making you stare blankly into the fridge at 7:00 PM wondering if a pickle counts as dinner.

No kitchen construction required: You get that slow-roasted, spit-rotisserie flavor without having to install a commercial vertical spit next to your toaster.

The ultimate “white sauce” shortcut: It completely bypasses the kitchen chemistry experiment of trying to replicate legendary street-cart garlic sauce from scratch (which usually just results in a messy kitchen and sad ranch).

Sophisticated laziness: It lets you look like a worldly chef who appreciates complex Levantine spice blends, even when your actual energy level is closer to “microwave pizza.”

Italian Grilled Chicken

Having ready-to-eat protein in the refrigerator helps me stay on track during busy weeks. I use this for salads, wraps, bowls, pasta dishes, and meal prep lunches. I am always on the go with Physical Therapy, doing my college courses, or playing taxi for my daughter. I add these to my Goodles cups with Fairlife, Laughing Cow, and Guy Fieri Garlic Butter seasoning. It makes a delicious, convenient meal. If your family is like mine, these are great. The seasoning is perfect, and all you have to do is heat and serve. You can put them over pasta as a non-breaded chicken parmesan, or even serve them with your favorite sides.

Here is why this ready-to-go protein belongs in your fridge:

  • The ultimate schedule saver: When you’re running between appointments, classes, or family commitments, having fully cooked, perfectly seasoned chicken ready to heat-and-eat in seconds stops you from pulling into a drive-thru.
  • The high-protein puzzle piece: It instantly upgrades simple meals—toss it into a quick salad, stuff it in a low-carb wrap, or chop it up into a high-protein mac and cheese bowl.
  • Zero-effort dinner shortcut: Skip the raw meat prep, the cutting boards, and the cooking time. It gives you an instant, juicy main dish (like an effortless non-breaded chicken parm) with zero kitchen cleanup.

Bone-In Center-Cut Pork Chops

So I love Pork Chops, and Sam’s does a great job at keeping them affordable. I became attached to these because when I was on the Weight Watchers plan, they were a juicy, delicious way to enjoy a zero-point food. Season them with Worcestershire sauce and Cajun Seasoning. Topped with mushroom cheese and sauteed onions. These are also delicious breaded in my Kodiak pork Panko recipe that you see me use on my Country Fried Steak Recipe.

Here is why they are a massive win for a budget-friendly diet:

  • High-volume comfort food: They are incredibly thick, satisfying, and juicy, making them feel like a heavy cheat-meal comfort food while remaining completely lean.
  • Maximum budget friendly: Sam’s Club keeps these consistently affordable, letting you stock up on premium, clean protein without draining your grocery budget.
  • The clean slate for flavor: They absorb seasoning beautifully—whether you go savory with Worcestershire and Cajun spices, top them with sauteed onions, or use them as a base for a high-protein crispy breaded recipe.

My Real Shopping Philosophy

One thing I’ve learned after losing more than 160 pounds is that success isn’t about eating “diet food.” It’s about finding foods that keep you full, fit your budget, and make it easier to stay consistent. These high-protein Sam’s Club finds help me stay on my goals because money is always tight living on workers’ comp.

I don’t shop based on store loyalty. I shop based on protein, satiety, convenience, and price. If Costco has the better deal, I buy it there. If Sam’s Club has the better deal, I buy it there.

And before anyone asks, yes, I intentionally left rotisserie chicken off this list. As the self-appointed Rotisserie Chicken Queen, I have standards. Costco wins that battle in my house. Sam’s Club has a lot of things I love, but their rotisserie chicken tends to be drier than my cybersecurity textbooks.

I said what I said.
