I’m the creator of Andi Unfiltered and the author of Reclaiming Flavor, a high-protein comfort-food cookbook built from real life, not perfection.

After losing more than 160 pounds on my weight-loss journey after the age of 50, I learned that healthy eating doesn’t have to mean giving up the foods you love. My approach focuses on realistic meals, sustainable habits, and rebuilding comfort food by adding more protein and better nutrition.

When I’m not creating recipes, you’ll find me sharing weight-loss lessons, recovery stories, kitchen shortcuts, and the everyday chaos of life with my daughter, Kiki, and my Saint Bernard, Comet.

This space was built for people who are tired of “all-or-nothing” wellness culture and really want realistic ways to eat better, feel better, and survive life without giving up the foods they love. I built this site the same way I lost over 160 pounds: imperfectly, stubbornly, and on a budget. Around here, you’ll find real food, real life, and proof that you don’t need a perfect kitchen, fancy dishes, or a big budget to chase big dreams. Most of my meals are served on paper plates, old dishes, and whatever happens to be clean at the moment, because progress matters more than perfection.

I’m the author of Reclaiming Flavor, a high-protein comfort-food cookbook inspired by my weight-loss journey of more than 160 pounds after the age of 50.

I originally wrote the book during a difficult season when I was looking for ways to earn income from home. As I thought about what I could offer others, I kept coming back to the recipes, food swaps, and simple strategies that helped me lose weight without feeling deprived.

What started as a personal project became a way to share the meals, shortcuts, and real-life lessons that helped me rebuild my health while still enjoying the foods I love.
